With the cost of 9mm these days, I would buy a P365 chambered in 22LR for some cost effective, realistic training. The gun would need to weigh the same as a 9mm P365 and have the same trigger pull. I'm not sure if a 22LR would have enough recoil to cycle the slide.I've shot 115 and 124 grain ammo in my new P365XL Spectre Comp which , as you know , has a 3.1 inch barrel to work with the slide compensator. I honestly don't understand why SIG doesn't offer an option for a safety dingus on the P365/P320. I feel that might help with some of the negligent discharges with the P320 at least and would put some minds at ease.
